***CLIFFHANGER******Trigger warnings: violence， abuse， including domestic abuse， and abandonment on pageI really enjoy this author’s writing。 But I LOATHE cliffhangers。 And the blurb did not indicate that this story had a cliffhanger so I admit to being genuinely peeved when I reached the end and found that the story was not complete。 Because “slow burn” does not mean serial - I’ve read many slow burn romances which are complete in one book。 I admit that， if it had said it was a cliffhanger， I w ***CLIFFHANGER******Trigger warnings: violence， abuse， including domestic abuse， and abandonment on pageI really enjoy this author’s writing。 But I LOATHE cliffhangers。 And the blurb did not indicate that this story had a cliffhanger so I admit to being genuinely peeved when I reached the end and found that the story was not complete。 Because “slow burn” does not mean serial - I’ve read many slow burn romances which are complete in one book。 I admit that， if it had said it was a cliffhanger， I would have passed。 Yes， I hate them that much。 Secondly， there are no trigger warnings in the blurb。 But there is real violence， abuse， and abandonment on the page， not just inferred or historical but in the current timeline space。 I personally don’t have issues with reading this but I know others do and I think warnings would have been good。 The story itself is great。 I enjoy the author’s style。 I find the premise of the story novel。 I enjoyed the female lead， Cara， and her ongoing struggle to be aligned with her wolf。 I enjoyed the male lead， Knox， and his brand of care for all。 I enjoyed the secondary characters - many of the other wolves made me chuckle in their antics。 The story is female lead POV only， though the epilogue is male lead only。 I prefer dual POV。 The story is well written， the interplay is electric， and I was deeply engaged emotionally with the characters。 Which is why I was infuriated when it ended unresolved。 I suppose I’m waiting impatiently for the next one。I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review。 。。。more
